Final Images (Train Station)

For my final location shoot I decided to do a shoot of Preston's train station. I have put all my images onto a contact sheet which you can see above.
I think my images went well after the first couple that I took as you can tell by the first few images are slightly overexposed. I took images of numerous of different things in the train station. For example, trains, tracks, people, outside, etc.
What I like most about these images is that I think the colours seem to stand out quite well which makes the images less dull and more vibrant. The things that I don't like about these images are the ones that are slightly overexposed which I did by accident but I still added it to my contact sheet to show process of me getting the right exposure to carry out this shoot. Another reason is at the fact some of images have got a yellowy-tone to them.

For my final outcome, my plan is to edit the photos that I like best on photoshop to create an double exposure by taking two different, separate photos and combining them together.

The two pictures that are shown below are my final outcome. They're both examples of 'double exposure'.  I have done both of these images by uploading the one that I want as my background for my first  and then I've dragged a completely, different photo over the top of that one for my second layer. I then change the blending mode from 'normal' to 'hard light' on both of them and also changed the hue/saturation. I change it from 'default'  to 'red boost' and change 'master' to 'reds'. I boosted the red because that was the main colour throughout th e pictures and by boosting it, it has given the pictures a more vibrant effect which I think it has given a better, developed picture than what it original was.

Colour (Red)

For todays shoot we had a task to go out and photograph a certain colour. The colour that I chose was red. I took numerous of different photos and edited them on photoshop to make them stand out even further than they actually did.
I edited the images below the exact same as each other by adding more brightness/contrast and change the hue/saturation to make the red more vibrant.

Uclan

For this specific shoot I went to Uclan where my Mum was working on her set design that she did for the drama students.

As you can see by the first few contact sheets there is no specific lighting to make everything light up so it shows you how it properly looks without the equipment being actually on.

The few last contact sheets that are towards the bottom are the ones that had the specific lighting for the play. The conditions where hard to try and get a decent picture because of how dark and smokey the area was. I had to change my settings on my camera numerous of times to get the right exposure but once I found the exact right setting for this kind of shoot, I think my pictures turned out really well.

Band

For todays shoot I went to photograph a band at Preston's college.  I took numerous of different photographs and put them into a contact sheet on photoshop.
Doing this shoot has developed me into a more confident photographer as I am photographing other people and getting up close to get the best shots.
The lighting was wasn't good in the studio which made my pictures really underexposed which makes my pictures not as good as they could of been. Also, if I was to redo this shoot I would have gotten closer to the band and took better group and individual shots.

Dance Studio

For todays shoot I went to the dance studio at Preston's college. I took numerous of different photos as you can see below which I have put into a contact sheet on photoshop. Some of the photos are not as great as you can see by the first picture with it being overexposed. I enjoyed doing this shoot as I think it developed me into a better photographer because I'm not used to shooting in specific places like the dance studio.
From this shoot I took out three of the best images that I liked and edited them on photoshop which you can see also below.

These three images that are shown below are the ones that I liked and edited. I edited these the exact same way by using brightness, contrast and colour tone to make these images stand out better. I also cropped the first and the last image as it was a struggle to see them clearly with how far back they was.

Project Plan

For this project,  I am going to do my shoots in Blackpool but not just photograph certain areas in Blackpool but my main actual focus is going to be the pier.

The photographer that has influenced this idea for me to shoot in specific location is 'Simon Roberts', ''The Pierdom''.  In this work, Roberts traveled to capture Britain's surviving piers  but also captured the vanished ones,  as you can see from his picture of Shanklin Pier on the Isle of Wight.

The equipment that I will be using to carry out this shoot will be my Nikon D3200 with the lens off 18-55mm and also I'll be using my tripod as I'll be doing a experimental technique which is going to be a slow shutter speed.

Before I go out and carry out this shoot, I will need 'pre-plan'. For example, thinking of the weather forecast and the time of day into considerations.

So my plan for this shoot is that I am going to go out to Blackpool to capture the Pier and it's surroundings around about 12 o'clock where it gives a more 'colder', 'blue' effect with the weather and take another shoot around about 5 o'clock where the sunset starts to go down which makes it give off a 'warmer', 'calmer' effect.

Simon Roberts (The Pierdom) -

This plan that I planned to do over half term did not work out because of the bad weather conditions. So I have decided to do an indoor shoot in Preston train station and I will be doing this on the 3rd of March. I am planning to take pictures of inside the station of the trains, tracks and people rather than shoot outside of the building and then with this I am going merge two image within each other on photoshop to get a double exposure. (Below are some examples)

I got these images of the internet as it is only an example to show what I am going to do when I complete my shoot. To do these I got two images and dragged them into photoshop to merge them together. I then changed the opacity and the blending layer. Both images below have a different opacity percent as well as the blending layer.

Opacity - 60%

Blending Layer - Screen

Opacity - 42%

Blending Layer - Normal
